BBHCA Membership Meeting

Candidate's Nights―Part 1

Board of Supervisors & Virginia Legislature

TIME:    7-9 pm

LOCATION:    Bush Hill Elementary School (see below for directions)

Brookland-Bush Hill Civic Association announces a General Membership Meeting for Tuesday, September 16, 2003, at Bush Hill Elementary School (see map link below). The meeting will be held in the Cafeteria and will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.

PART 1:  Tuesday, September 16

Tonight will be the first of two Candidate's Nights covering 2003 races in Lee District. The following races are identified as of particular interest in the Bush Hill/Rose Hill/Clermont area:

•  Chairman, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors
•  School Board, Lee District and At-Large races
•  Virginia House of Delegates, 43rd District
•  Virginia Senate, 39th District
•  Fairfax County Sheriff

Candidates will be presented by Second Vice President―Membership, Sharada Gilkey. Each candidate will be allowed a short introduction. The audience can then direct questions to the candidates.

•  7:00 PM    Very short Business Meeting
•  7:15 PM    First Panel: Board of Supervisors Candidates
•  8:00 PM    Short break for Refreshments and Setup for Next Panel
•  8:10 PM    Second Panel: Virginia Senate and Virginia House of Delegates*
•  9:00 PM    Adjournment (time approximate)

*We are empanelling the Virginia Senate and Delegate candidates together. We have noticed in the past that questions for State Legislature candidates tend to be similar. We are also trying to manage the length of the evening.

DIRECTIONS: The link below provides a map to Bush Hill Elementary School. The entrance to the Cafeteria is located on the right side of the building. Free parking is available on both sides of the building.
